Proxy Wines
After fifteen years working alongside celebrated winemakers such as Heidi Barrett, Philippe Melka, and Julien Fayard, winemaker Molly Lippitt established her own venture, Proxy Wines. Leveraging her extensive experience, Molly brings a detail-focused, site-honoring approach to crafting wines. Proxy Wines reflects her personal philosophy, focusing on small-production varieties she enjoys drinking, with winemaking as a passion-driven pursuit outside her consulting work in Napa Valley.
The design for Proxy Wines captures Molly’s unique vision through an abstract and symbolic visual identity. A minimalist label depicts an open doorway casting an angled shadow, a metaphor for opportunity and discovery. The shadow transforms into a custom pattern, with a highlighted "X" representing the winemaker as a central figure. The color of the "X" shifts by varietal, creating a dynamic and distinctive visual cue. This thoughtful design underscores Proxy Wines’ artisanal nature and Molly’s individualistic approach to winemaking.
