King Estate
King Estate, a pioneer in Oregon winemaking, was founded in 1991 with a commitment to sustainability and a focus on crafting world-class wines. Situated on a 1,033-acre estate in the Willamette Valley, the winery is known for its Oregon Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, along with a diverse range of other varietals. As the largest certified Biodynamic® vineyard in North America, King Estate blends innovation with a deep respect for the land.
A “cream” and “black” color scheme was introduced to distinguish between the red and white varietals, extending this refined system across stationery, shippers, newsletters, and collateral for a cohesive and elevated brand experience.
The project began with the creation of a custom bottle mold, necker, and signature label design inspired by the iconic tower on the estate. The design process focused on simplifying the presentation by eliminating unnecessary decoration and small typography in favor of a more defined type hierarchy that highlights each vineyard and wine designation.
